PLEASE ALLOW 72 HOURS FOR PRESCRIPTIONS
EPS4
The NHS is phasing out green prescriptions known as FP10s with the majority of prescriptions now being processed electronically through the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
EPS allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser of the patient’s choice – known as their “nominated” dispenser. Whilst paper prescriptions will continue to be available in special circumstances, almost all prescriptions will be processed electronically.
If you have a problem with the Pharmacy unable to locate your electronic prescription please speak to Reception staff who can issue you with a token to take to the chemist. The EPS token looks similar to the usual green EP10, but will need to be taken to a pharmacy to obtain your medication. Having a nomination will ensure you are able to pick up your prescriptions without needing to collect tokens each time.
For more information about EPS4, click here to take you to the NHS Digital website.
Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctor's discretion and are normally for patients on long-term treatment. Requests for prescriptions can be made in writing or by visiting the surgery from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
We have now made repeat request ordering available online. Please see our online services section of the website for details on how to register for this service.
We are unable to take orders or issue repeat prescriptions by telephone or at weekends, public holidays or out of normal surgery hours. Please allow three complete working days before collection and make allowances for weekends and public holidays. Where possible give the exact drug names when ordering.
You can now request repeat prescriptions by email:
prescriptions.hps@nhs.net
Please note this email is for prescription requests ONLY.
Out of hours any repeat prescriptions may be left in the surgery letterbox by the front door.
Please note that if you would like someone else to collect your prescription on your behalf, we will need a signed consent form from you. These are available from reception.
Ordering Repeat Prescriptions Online

Dispensing
Although we are not a dispensing practice, there is an on-site pharmacy (Well). But if you require collection and delivery of your prescription you need to arrange this with your preferred pharmacy.
